My dear Shopify besties,
Today is a special day. Shopify just released their native integration for Google Analytics 4 (GA-4) (and it’s about damn time!!!).
Previously, you could only integrate Shopify’s Enhanced E-commerce analytics with Google Analytics 3 (GA-3). In order to collect data with GA-4 you had to embed the javascript code yourself and you couldn’t even connect to sales & conversion data automatically.
As of today, there is a native integration you can use with an easy 4-click setup to make this magic setup happen!
Why is this important??
Google is retiring GA-3 on July 1st, 2023 which means you need to upgrade to GA-4 before then to maintain collecting precious data about how users are interacting with your website.
And if we’ve worked together before, you know how much I insist on collecting as much data as possible from how users interact with your website. This way we can make grounded decisions about your website’s design to get more conversions, more clicks, more sales, and not just create a site based on our intuition (although sometimes that can be handy too!)
How do you set up GA-4?
Lucky for you I compiled this lil step by step guide!
Hope this was helpful!
